Take home Whitening/Bleaching
Over time our teeth tend to become discolored or stained. Whether this is from smoking, coffee, or any other foods, a beautiful smile could be closer than you think. We offer a safe, inexpensive solution to an unsightly smile. Whitening your teeth is a very simple procedure that can be completed in relatively short period of time.

Procedure

The first step in the whitening process is impressions. We will take full impressions of your upper and lower teeth. These impressions will be made into custom bleaching trays. The trays will fit onto your teeth perfectly so there is a small possibility of gum damage from the bleaching solution.

The second step is to place the bleaching solution in the trays and wear them for a few hours a day. Within 7-10 days, you will see a significant improvement in the color of your teeth. Your smile will look brighter and younger. We will take before and after photos so that you will be able to compare the amazing transformation.

Bleaching only works on natural teeth and may not be effective in all cases. We will inform you as to the potential whitening for your specific situation.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

How does in-office teeth whitening work?

In-office teeth whitening uses a professional-strength whitening gel to break down stains on the surface of and within the tooth enamel. Your gums and lips are protected before the gel is applied, and the treatment is completed under professional supervision.

How long does in-office teeth whitening take?

In-office teeth whitening is typically completed in a single visit, making it a simple way to brighten your smile in a relatively short amount of time.

Is professional teeth whitening safe?

Professional teeth whitening is generally considered safe when it is performed under a dentist’s supervision. Before whitening, your teeth and gums are checked for cavities or other issues that should be treated first.

Will teeth whitening make my teeth sensitive?

Some people experience temporary tooth sensitivity after whitening, which usually fades within a short time. Let our team know if you already have sensitive teeth, so we can talk about ways to keep you comfortable.

How long do teeth whitening results last?

How long whitening results last varies from person to person. Coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces, and tobacco can stain teeth over time, while daily brushing and flossing and regular dental cleanings help keep your smile bright.

Does teeth whitening work on crowns, veneers, or fillings?

No. Whitening only lightens natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, bonding, and tooth-colored fillings will not change color, so if you have restorations on front teeth, talk with Dr. Hwang about how whitening may affect the overall match of your smile.

Is professional whitening better than over-the-counter products?

Professional in-office whitening uses a stronger gel than most store-bought products, is applied with protection for your gums, and is supervised by a dental professional. This typically leads to more noticeable and more even results than over-the-counter whitening strips or toothpastes.
